Dinosaur Simulator Wiki

This is a page that covers the basics of the game Dinosaur Simulator. The Mechanics section is dedicated to how the game works and features other than the creatures themselves. This section is to help as a guide for newer players learning how to play the game.

Starter Dinosaurs

When a player first enters the game, they'll only have the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Ornithomimus, and Triceratops as playable creatures. The player can only choose those 3 creatures when they start the game. The player can get more creatures by surviving with the first three creatures, and by unlocking other creatures for DNA. For instance, they can use Tyrannosaurus to get Styracosaurus, Euoplocephalus, and Brachiosaurus through the Survival Badges. The same is for Triceratops and Ornithomimus, in which you get Allosaurus, Baryonyx, Spinosaurus for the Triceratops, and Avimimus, Troodon, and Gigantoraptor for the Ornithomimus.

DNA

Main article: DNA

This is the currency used in the game. Every in-game day, the player earns DNA depending on their GRM, and after saving up, they can use it to buy more dinosaurs and skins. Skins can also be obtained by using Promo codes as well. Some older skins are different from their original skins/dinosaurs by their stats as well as their looks. You can also gain around DNA IconDNA Icon 200 from the daily bonus in the DNA shop.

Oxygen

Main article: Oxygen

Oxygen is an in-game mechanic related to Moistness and having to do with water. Oxygen is an indicator of how long a dinosaur can survive underwater before they begin to lose 1/25 of max health. Oxygen does not change when growing. Semi-aquatic or aquatic dinosaurs have more Oxygen points than other dinosaurs and some don't even need Oxygen.

Weather

Main article: Weather

There are four seasons in Dinosaur Simulator: Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring, with only Spring and Summer having edible trees. These can be easily differentiated by the color of the trees, grass as well the weather. They also signify the specific Natural Disasters, though sometimes more than one type of disaster happens in a season. Each season lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, but they can differ in length. The lengths are based on random times and can last even longer based on the server-based time interval, which depends on the map that is being played on (the Main Map has a very slow server time). See Time for more information on the time mechanics in-game.

Time

Main article: Time

Each in-game day lasts 3 minutes and 30 seconds, and each night is included in half of that time. Each one of the Seasons last roughly 3-5 in-game days or 10.5-17.5 minutes

Natural Disasters

Main article: Natural Disasters

Natural Disasters are in-game mechanics that add extra difficulty and randomness to Dinosaur Simulator. Such examples are floods and frost.
